Focus on the Nordic song treasure

Nordic Song Festival focuses on the Nordic vocal treasure of songs and romances in the Nordic languages. There will be plenty of opportunities for specialization in the musical / theatrical expression as well as the mediation of the repertoire is central. Both classics and contemporary music are on the repertoire.


Nordic Song Festival is open to students from all over the world. There will be many opportunities to create valuable networks across national and cultural boundaries.

Master classes taking place
June 29-July 5:

June 29 -July 2, at 10.30 am to 5 pm
July 3 - 5,  at 10.30 am to 5 pm,
July 2, at 10.30 am to 12.30,
at 2 pm to 6 pm Closed rehearsal.
The course is evaluated July 6,
at 9 am to 12.30.

How to get to Hudiksvall:

Hudiksvall is located on the E4
(297 km north of Stockholm).
The trip takes about 2 ½ hours
by train from Arlanda AIrport
and 3 hours by train from Stockholm C.

Master Class - teaching

Teaching is in Hudiksvall, with both Master Classes with audience and individual lessons without an audience. Master Classes offer the active participants singing and accompaniment teaching, with and without an audience, text analysis, pronunciation, physical and theatrical training, posture techniques, breathing techniques, interpretation mm. Students are also invited to participate in a concert Monday, July 2.nd in Söderhamns teater, Söderhamn. The Master Class end with a concert on July in Hudiksvall.

Throughout the festival week several concerts will be arranged in Hudiksvall, Järvsö and Strömsbruk with professional artists and some
of the teachers.


The Master Class fee includes:

  • Meals and accommodation (in shared rooms)
  •  7 days individual singing and piano lessons and lessons in text analysis
  •  Workshop of scenic interpretation, text analysis, pronunciation, physio drama and contemporary music
  •  At least 5 lessons at the master classes with audience
  •  Tickets for all festival concerts
  •  Participation in two concerts

Course Fee: 9,500 SEK

We who teach can provide advice and suggestions to the repertoire!
We can also help with the notes.

To participate in Master Classes,
each active participant studying at least 6 Nordic songs / romances. The Nordic countries Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway will be represented and at least one piece must be composed of an extant composers. Pianists working with two singers each.
